This is the third part in a series where I show you how to properly host your own game server. Part one was about setting up the hardware, this is about getting it up and running. Part four will cover taking all this knowledge and creating your first Minecraft server on lastchaos! If you missed the first two parts, make sure to check them out now! This is part three of a series where I show you how to set up your own game server. In case you missed any of my other tutorials, they are as follows: -Setup Hardware For A Game Server (Part 1) - http://lastchaosx. blogspot.ca/2012/05/setup-hardware-for-game-server-part_01.html -Setup Your Game Server (Part 2) - http://lastchaosx.blogspot.ca/2012/06/setup-your-game-server_03.html Now that we have a working server it is time to configure it and get it running. The reason we rebooted the computer and didn't just restart the server was because we need to install some drivers and utilities that will be used later on to configure everything properly. Without these tools we will have to restart the server every time we make a change, and that's no fun. -Open up the Device Manager (Right click Computer, click Manage, then click Device Manager) -Right click every Network Card (1st and 2nd), and select properties. -Click Install Driver Software -Click "Browse my computer for driver software" under Let me pick from a list. Now browse to the http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&keyword=10 gig and search for 'e1000e network driver.' This should be version 8.3 or higher. -If you get an error right clicking the driver, you need to update the Device Manager. This error message means that the file is older than what your computer is running. -Once it is installed, check the box that states update driver. Click OK and reboot your computer -Power down your computer and open up RSLinx for this initial configuration for Minecraft. Access the Admin tab . After a few minutes of waiting here comes our first error. The server can't find Java... In most cases this issue will be solved by updating Java from http://www.java.com/. It should take only a few seconds for this download to complete. -Once that is finished, OPTIONAL - You can go into x64, find the "Program Files (x86)" folder, and click on the Java folder. This will open it up in Windows Explorer -Right click on "Java 32" or whatever you named it after Java has been updated. Then select 'Uninstall' -Close out of the Java folder, and close out of Windows Explorer Now after all that is done you can re run RSLinx and get back to configuring your server... -After restarting your computer, open up RSLinx for this set of configuration commands. cfa1e77820
